Police Department Daily Blotter-Monday, October 13, 2014 •0230: A ring in alarm was received from the Sewer Rd Pump Station. Water Dept. personnel advised. •0615: A resident of the Chilkoot Subdivision reported bear activity in the area. A HBPD officer was advised and responded to area – no bears located and dumpsters intact. •1200: A resident of Mud Bay Rd. reported a bear tore into a shed on his lot last night. HBPD, AST and F&G advised. . •1200: A minor collision that occurred at the Lutak restroom pullout was reported, parties had exchanged information and left the scene. Caller had a question about completing a Alaska Certificate of Insurance form for DOT. Answered the caller’s questions, and the caller later stopped by the HBPD to pick up the form. •1530: A resident of the Dusty Trails apartments called to report her neighbor is “driving her nuts”. Wanted to know what she could do. She provided information on how and where to obtain a protective order. •1630: Received a report of a domestic dispute on lower Mud Bay. HBPD officers responded and arrested the involved woman for a domestic violence assault. The woman was lodged at the Haines Rural Jail facility. •1930: A Haines School official reported being stuck in the school due to a dumpster diving bear in the school lot. A HBPD officer responded and scared the bear off. AST and F&G notified. •2230: A resident of Small Tracts Rd. reported a bear had torn a hole into their garbage shed. The complainant reported that they were able to scare the bear away. HBPD, AST, and F&G notified. •Medical Calls: 1. •Canine Calls: 0. •Traffic Stops: Five traffic stops were conducted. Two by HBPD; one was on 3rd avenue the other was in the Fort Seward, both resulted in verbal warnings for not stopping at a stop sign. Three were conducted by AST; two were on Lutak Rd. the other was on Mud Bay Rd.
