Police Press Log 6/2/2013 to 6/15/2013 Sunday 6/2/2013 1111 hours – Sgt. Pitts responded to Staghead Drive for a complaint of Vandalism to a lawn by a vehicle. Report taken. 1138 hours – Officer Richardson and Major Guglietta responded to Nasonville Road for a report of a Domestic Disturbance. Report taken. 1227 hours – Officer Richardson responded to Oak Terrace for a report of a Neighbor Dispute. All parties spoken to and situation resolved. 1326 hours – While on patrol on the Bridge Way Officer Genereux observed a vehicle being operated by a subject not wearing a seat belt. He initiated a traffic stop and also discovered the vehicle was unregistered. The vehicle was towed from the scene, the plates seized and the operator cited for the seat belt violation and operating an unregistered vehicle. 1443 hours – While on patrol on Eagle Peak Road Officer Veader observed a vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed. He initiated a traffic stop and also discovered the vehicle operator driver’s license had expired. He was issued a citation for operating on an expired license and the vehicle driven away by a licensed passenger. 1516 hours – Officer Richardson and Sgt. Pitts responded to Victory Highway for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Vehicle was towed from the scene and a report taken. 1758 hours – While on a traffic post on Spring Lake Road Officer Veader observed a vehicle with an expired registration tag. He initiated a traffic stop and verified that the vehicle’s registration had expired. The vehicle was towed from the scene, the plates seized and the operator cited for operating an unregistered vehicle. 1940 hours – Officers Veader and Hughes responded to Wallum Lake Road for a report of a Fight in Progress. State Police were also responding. Two juveniles were arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Monday 6/3/2013 1546 hours – Officer Veader responded to South Main Street for a Larceny complaint. Report taken. 1549 hours – Officer Veader responded to Staghead Drive for a report of Property Damage. Complainant states vehicle ran over his recycle bins. 1900 hours – Officer Blais responded to Smith Hill Road for a report of Breaking and Entering with Larceny. 1930 hours – Officer Blais responded to Mount Pleasant Road to assist a state constable with service of a vacate order. Services rendered and a report taken. 2033 hours – Officers Veader and Kelley along with Fire and EMS units responded to trail off of Staghead Drive for a report of a motorcycle rider with a fractured leg. First units on scene reported an open femur fracture with significant blood loss and requested Life Flight. Life Flight declined due to weather conditions. Subject transported via rescue to RI Hospital. 2207 hours – Officer Blais responded to Pelletier Drive for a report of Breaking and Entering. Report taken. Tuesday 6/4/2013 1410 hours – Officer Beauchemin along with Fire and EMS units responded to Railroad Avenue for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries. One subject transported to the hospital and two vehicles were driven from the scene. 1826 hours – Officer Veader responded to Tarkiln Road for a report of Property Damage. Caller stated his wall was damaged by a vehicle backing from a driveway.. 1938 hours – Officer Blais responded to Davis Drive for a report of an Assault. 2205 hours – Officer Veader and Lt. Leahey responded to Snake Hill Road at Barnes Road for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Vehicle was towed from the scene and a report taken. Wednesday 6/5/2013 0023 hours – Officers Hughes, Blais and Sgt. Eddy responded to Sanwood Drive for a report of a Disturbance. Caller stated subjects were smashing bottles. Three subjects fled the scene upon arrival of officers. A Burrillville resident was arrested and charged with Vandalism and Disorderly Conduct. 1014 hours – Officer Beauchemin and Lt. Leahey responded to Victory Highway at Central Street for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Following an investigation a commercial vehicle and trailer were towed to the police impound and a Connecticut resident was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license. 1101 hours – Officer Richardson responded to North Main Street for a report of Vandalism. Report taken. 1510 hours – Officer Beauchemin responded to the station for a complaint of Threats. Report taken. Thursday 6/6/2013 0139 hours – Sgt. Eddy responded to the station for a report of a Runaway juvenile. 1159 hours – Lt. Connors and Officer Richardson along with Fire and EMS units responded to Mount Pleasant Road for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries. Operator refused medical transport. Report taken. 1334 hours – Officer Richardson responded to the station for processing of a subject indicted by the grand jury. The subject from Woonsocket was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Felony Assault, 2 counts of 1st degree Robbery and Conspiracy. 1637 hours – Pawtucket Police reported a stolen motor vehicle from Burrillville was recovered in their city. Owner of the vehicle was contacted to retrieve his vehicle. 1647 hours – Officer Yakey responded to the station for a report of Larceny of a cell phone. Report taken. 1847 hours – Officer Blais responded to Wallum Lake Road for a report of Threats. Friday 6/7/2013 0630 hours – Officers Hughes, Genereux and Sgt. Carlow responded to Victory Highway for a report of Breaking and Entering. Report taken. 1624 hours – Following an investigation Officer Hughes arrested and charged a resident of Burrillville with Vandalism and Disorderly Conduct. 1630 hours – Officers Yakey and Hughes responded to Knibb Road for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Vehicle was towed from the scene and a report taken. 1654 hours – Officer Veader responded to the station for a report of Harassment. 1713 hours – Officer Yakey responded to Wallum Lake Road for a report of a Runaway. 2133 hours – Following an investigation Officer Hughes arrested and charged Timothy Schmidt of Burrillville with Vandalism and Disorderly Conduct. Saturday 6/8/2013 0952 hours – Sgt. Pitts, Lt. Connors and Officer Richardson responded to Broncos Highway for a report of a Fight in Progress. Subjects declined to press charges; however two traffic signs were recovered from the subject’s bedroom. Report taken. 1100 hours – Sgt, Pitts and Lt. Connors responded to the station for a complaint of a Disturbance between the complainant and the soon to be ex-husband. Escort provided to recover personal items and a report taken. 1702 hours – While on patrol on Wallum Lake Road Officer Veader observed a vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed. Follow his investigation which included Field Sobriety Tests, a male subject from Woonsocket was arrested and charged with DUI 1st Offense. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 1903 hours – Officers Veader, Kelley and Hughes responded to Church Street for a report of a Domestic Disturbance. Following an investigation a male subject was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction of a Police Officer. 2011 hours – Officers Kelley, Veader and Hughes responded to Spring Lake Road for a report of a Disturbance. Report taken. Burrillville Public Safety Departments answered 360 calls for service the week June 2nd. Sunday 6/9/2013 1534 hours – Officer Kelley responded to South Main Street for a complaint of an attempted Breaking and Entering. 1832 hours – While on patrol on Tarkiln Road Officer Veader observed a vehicle with an expired registration tag. He initiated a traffic stop and verified that the vehicle’s registration had expired. He also learned that the operator’s driver’s license was suspended. The female operator from Lincoln, RI was arrested and charged with Driving on a Suspended License. She was also cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the plates seized. 2112 hours – Officers Kelley and Blais responded to Hill Road for a report of subjects with flashlights around a vacant house. Following their investigation a female from Burrillville was arrested and charged with Willful Trespass. Monday 6/10/2013 1404 hours – Sgt. Pitts responded to the High School to attempt to locate a subject named on a warrant. An 18 year old student of Burrillville was located and arrested on a Burrillville police warrant and charged with Breaking and Entering. 1716 hours – Officers Veader and Beauchemin responded to Harrisville Main Street at East Avenue for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. One vehicle was towed from the scene and a report taken. Tuesday 6/11/2013 0724 hours – While on patrol on Broncos Highway Sgt. Eddy observed a vehicle with an expired registration tag. He initiated a traffic stop and verified that the vehicle’s registration had expired. The vehicle was towed from the scene, the plates seized and the operator cited for operating an unregistered vehicle. 1112 hours – Officer Hughes took a report of a marijuana grow site discovered in the Buck Hill Management area. 1653 hours – Officer Yakey responded to West Ironstone Road for a report of a naked man standing next to a car parked on the side of the road. Subject was gone on arrival. Wednesday 6/12/2013 1627 hours – Officer Yakey responded to Bank of America parking lot for a minor Motor Vehicle Crash. Vehicle driven from the scene and a report taken. Thursday 6/13/2013 0025 hours – Officers Hughes, Genereux, Sgt. Carlow and Fire and EMS units responded to Victory Highway for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries. One subject transported to the hospital and the vehicle was towed from the scene. 1118 hours – Sgt. Pitts, Lt. Connors and Inspector Bouchard along with Fire and EMS units responded to Broncos Highway at East Avenue for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries. 2 subjects transported to the hospital, 2 vehicles were towed from the scene. 1121 hours – Officer Richardson and Det. Cahill responded to Colonial Road for a report of a Domestic Disturbance. Peace restored and a report taken. 2127 hours – Officers Yakey and Veader responded to Harrisville Main St. at East Avenue for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Friday 6/14/2013 0951 hours – Officer Richardson responded to Hill Road for a report of Larceny of an ATV. Report taken. 1344 hours – Sgt. Pitts, Lt. Leahey, Officer Richardson, Det. Cahill and Sgt. Riendeau responded to Pascoag Main Street for a report of Suspicious Activity. Subjects were seen carrying a ladder in the back yard of a residence and when approached fled the scene. Area was searched and neighboring departments given the description of the vehicle. Report taken. 1800 hours – While on a traffic post on Chapel Street Officer Yakey observed a subject known to him to have a suspended license pass his location. He initiated a traffic stop and verified the operator’s driver’s license was suspended. The operator from Woonsocket, RI was arrested and charged with Driving on a Suspended License and his vehicle towed from the scene. 1828 hours – Officers Yakey, Veader, Sgt. Lacey and EMS units responded to South Main Street for a report of a man out of control with a knife. The scene was secured by police without injury and EMS transported the subject to the hospital for evaluation. Saturday 6/15/2013 0251 hours – Officer Genereux responded to Mapleville Main Street for a complaint of Vandalism to a vehicle. Report taken. 0357 hours – Officers Genereux and Barrett along with EMS units responded to Hillside Drive for a report of a man passed out in a car. Subject refused medical attention and following an investigation the male operator of Burrillville was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substances. 0452 hours – Officers Barrett, Genereux and Sgt. Eddy along with Fire and EMS units responded to Tarkiln Road for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries, car off the road. Operator refused medical transport and following an investigation which included field sobriety tests, the operator who resides in Burrillville was arrested and charged with DUI 1st offense. 0933 hours – Officer Beauchemin responded to Wallum Lake Road for a report of Property Damage to a residence. 1216 hours – Lt. Leahey and Sgt. Lacey along with Fire and EMS units responded to Broncos Highway at Daniele Drive for a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash, rollover. Units arriving on scene advised that a 14 wheel dump truck rolled over off the roadway and the operator was uninjured. A heavy duty wrecker was called to the scene to right the truck and a report taken. Sgt. Lacey, Burrillville Police Commercial Enforcement Officer performed an inspection of the truck prior to it being released. Burrillville Public Safety Departments answered 295 calls for service the week June 9th.
