Police Records Technician/Matron, Exam No 13-034 Type:Full Time Salary/Pay Rate:$4,034 - $5,149 per month Posted Date:02/18/2014 11:31 AM Deadline to Apply:03/13/2014 The City of Manhattan Beach is now accepting applications for the position of Police Records Technician/Matron. The department is busy and is looking for an individual who likes to work in a fast-paced setting. The Police Records Technician/Matron performs varied and increasingly responsible law enforcement communication and clerical duties including data entry, typing, records, computer maintenance work and using various radio and telecommunications systems, greet and assist the public; search female prisoners and assist in processing and transportation; and does other related work as required. This position will be required to work shifts, weekends, and/or holidays. The Records Division is responsible for processing and maintaining all reports produced by police personnel. The records staff greets visitors at the main lobby, answers phones, processes evidence, and enters stolen property, vehicles, missing persons, and warrants into local and regional databases, responds to subpoenas and request for documents, prepares court packages and submits required reports and documents. The records division is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or GED. Training and Experience: Two (2) years of general clerical or related experience involving data entry, computer use and public contact. Experience working in a law enforcement agency is highly desirable. Licenses: A valid Class C drivers license and acceptable driving record is required at the time of employment.
