Police Scotland - PPEAL FOR WITNESSES Suspicious Fire – Caerlaverock Police are investigating a fire which was set at the Caerlaverock Nature Reserve at the castle Corner car park. The fire took place sometime overnight Sunday 13/Monday 14 July 2014. A bench, a wheelie bin and information leaflets have been destroyed in the fire. Hit and Run Crash – Dunragit A fence has been damaged in a hit and run crash on the B7084 road at it’s junction with Station Road in Dunragit sometime overnight Sunday 13/Monday 14 July 2014. The offending vehicle failed to stop after the crash. Assault – Gretna Police want to trace witnesses to an altercation which took place in the cut at Graitney, near the coal yard, Gretna at around 1600 hours on Monday 14 July 2014. A 24 year old man was assaulted at this time by two men who were at the scene. The men are known to the victim and police are keen to trace anyone who may have seen the altercation. The victim was not injured in the assault. Break-in – Dumfries A house in Findlater Court in Dumfries was broken into sometime between 1300 hours and 2215 hours on Monday 14 July 2014. Nothing appears to have been taken in the raid although the house was searched through. Theft – Dumfries Police want to trace the following two men seen leaving a store at the McDonalds restaurant in Lochside Road in Dumfries at around 0120 hours on Tuesday 15 July 2014. The two were seen carrying a yellow pressure washer and Ryobi hedge cutter which were later discovered stolen from the [premises. The men are described as being teenagers, one of whom was about 6’ tall, slim build, and wearing grey top and a cap.
