Police: Two Arrested After Neighbor Reports Suspicious Activity (Shanike Roldon [L], Victor Ramos [R]) SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield Police are crediting an astute neighbor to leading them to the arrest of two break-in suspects. Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a resident called police after reportedly seeing flashlights illuminating from inside a Kimberly Avenue home. Officers, along with a K-9, responded and surrounded the home, at which time, they also found that the rear door had been forced in. Delaney explains that officers were able to arrest a female suspect, who was found on the second floor, and a male suspect, who was found on the third floor, a short time later. Shanike Roldon, 28, and Victor Ramos, 27, both of Springfield, are being charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony and possession of burglarious instruments. “This arrest was possible because a very good neighbor looked out his window and spotted something that looked suspicious. Instead of shrugging his shoulders and going back to watch TV, the neighbor dialed 911,” Delaney says. Arraignments are scheduled for Monday in Springfield District Court.
