Police baton charge PHE daily wagers, many hurt Srinagar, Ma y 26: (GNS) Police on Monday used force to disperse the agitating Public Health Engineering (PHE) daily wagers demanding regularization in the department. Scores of daily wagers gathered outside PHE office and shouted slogans in favour of their regularizations, “The protesters in Srinagar tried to march from PHE office to Press Colony but the march was foiled by police outside PHE office by using batons and using color water cannons on PHE Employee in which nearly 10 employees were injured,” witnesses added. The PHE employees have threatened to march towards Secretariat on 27 May and they have also threatened nocturnal protests. During the protest, dozens of employees including leader of PHE daily wage employees were detained by police.
