Police have charged a man after he kicked an officer in the face in Hurstville on the weekend. About 10.30pm (Sunday 20 April 2014), officers from St George Local Area Command responded to reports of a man allegedly behaving aggressively in Hurstville. Police attended a home on Bassett Street, and found a man being held by other people. The man, a 22-year-old, allegedly continued to behave aggressively and kicked out, his foot connecting with a police officer’s face. The 25-year-old male Constable was taken to St George Hospital for treatment for a possible fractured right eye socket. The man was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with assault police occasioning actual bodily harm. He was given conditional bail to appear at Kogarah Local Court on Tuesday 13 May 2014.
