Police have charged a man and woman following a brawl in which two police officers were injured. About 11pm (Saturday 21 June 2014), police responded to reports a group was fighting at Darling Harbour. While one of the officers was arresting a 21-year-old man over the fight, the constable was struck to the head by an unknown person. The person responsible for that attack has not yet been identified. Another officer was allegedly struck to the head with a stiletto shoe. The sergeant suffered a deep laceration to the right side of his head. Police arrested a 26-year-old woman over that incident. The two officers were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment of their wounds and for possible concussion. One of them has since been released. At Sydney Central Police Station, the man was charged with affray, and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 22 June 2014). The woman was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm. She was granted bail to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on 7 July 2014.
