Police have charged two men in relation to a neighbour dispute at Yagoona, in Sydney’s southwest. Emergency services were called to Treuer Parade just before 3pm yesterday (Sunday 18 May 2014). As a result of the incident, a 16-year-old boy was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment of seven stab wounds to his stomach, left forearm, left thigh, chest and back. He is currently in a serious but stable condition. The boy’s 24-year-old sister was also transported to Liverpool Hospital after sustaining a seven-centimetre cut to the left side of the head, a stab wound to the left armpit, a stab wound above right knee, and small cut to her left eyelid. She is in a serious but stable condition. A 20-year-old man was admitted to Westmead Hospital, where he remains under police guard while being treated for an injury to his left arm. A 44-year-old woman also remains under police guard in Bankstown Hospital, where she is receiving treatment for fractures to her nose and eye. A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station. His 47-year-old father was arrested and conveyed to St George Hospital for treatment of a thigh wound. He was later released and conveyed to Bankstown Police Station. The 23-year-old and 47-year-old have both been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The older man has been additionally charged with affray and reckless grievous bodily harm in company. Both men were refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 19 May 2014). Police from Bankstown Local Area Command are continuing their investigation into the incident.
