Police ready to conduct free and fair Elections DGP asks police force to be pro-people Pulwama: Director General of Police (DGP), K.Rajendra Friday police is ready to conduct coming Assembly elections in free and peaceful environment and nobody will be allowed to rig these elections. K.Rajendra said that Police is ready to ensure a safe environment for conduct of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and nobody will be allowed to resort to coercive means. He said that 200 militants are still present in Kashmir Valley while police is fully equipped and capable to deal with them. He said that our fight against the militancy would continue till peace prevails in Jammu and Kashmir. “Anti militancy operations needs to be conducted, adopting an effective strategy to avoid collateral damages and unnecessary inconvenience to the law abiding people,” he added. K.Rajendra added that it is the duty of the police to conduct free and fair elections and for this purpose all arrangements have been made in advance. In response to a question, he said Army is alert on the borders and they are capable to foil any attempt of infiltration along Line of Control.
