Police to announce charges in luxury vehicle . Police will hold a news conference today to announce charges against eight men with ties to a criminal organization involved in the theft of luxury vehicles. The suspects were arrested Thursday morning as police executed nine search warrants in Toronto, York and Niagara region as part of Project Yellowbird. Police allege that the suspects broke into homes in affluent neighbourhoods for the purpose of stealing keys to high-end vehicles. A total of 23 vehicles with an estimated value of $2.3 million have been recovered so far and police say they believe additional stolen vehicles could still be out there. This Mercedes SL350 is one of the allegedly stolen luxury vehicles that police said they recovered in the GTA and Niagara regions in the early morning hours of Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.
