Police will prepare a brief for the Coroner following a fatal crash near Coonabarabran yesterday. About 9.40pm (Thursday 5 June 2014), a Ford Falcon was travelling north on the Oxley Highway, 28km east of Coonabarabran, when it left the road and hit a tree, The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene. The deceased has not yet been formally identified, but is believed to be a 22-year-old Dubbo man. Earlier in the evening, the Falcon was involved in a pursuit with police in the township of Coonabarabran. This was terminated at 9.28pm. Coonabarabran Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
