Portland Public Schools Hiring Web Manager (Job Code: N151019) Works under supervision of the Director of Information Technology, and reporting to a Computer Systems Manager, to maintain the Portland Public School District’s website, databases, and web applications. Develops and maintains online interfaces to databases and writes the connecting code between them and other external sites requiring data. Develops and maintains databases used for the various District websites, web applications, and blogs. Responsibilities: Provide administration for the School District Web Site; Develop, implement and maintain custom Intranet for the School District; Develop content, implement training plans, and provide training for education staff on the processes and procedures associated with updating/maintaining hosted web site and District web pages; Provide technical expertise in maintaining District web site; Serves as Technical project manager for coordinating web-based initiatives within the school district; Develop guidelines for configuration and support procedures; Coordinate support with help desk to ensure proper, efficient, and consistent response to customer requests for web application and website service and support; Monitor and maintain consistent updates for website and web application infrastructure; Develop, implement and maintain databases for the District’s web applications; Recommend web site improvements, and develop budget to support recommendations; Develop testing routines and procedures for usage analyses to determine web site effectiveness or usability; Implement and maintain mobile apps for the School District; Align, web site and web based application security with District IT security policies. Requirements: Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in a related field and have excellent programming, web production skills, as well as experience with interactive and social media; Excellent interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with various levels of stakeholders; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Must be able to participate in, and contribute to, design discussions with various departments and team members; Experience with one or more of the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, PHP, PERL, Bash, Object-Oriented PHP, Object-Oriented PERL,SQL, Drupal, WordPress, LDAP, Apache; Experience with database development, administration and application integration; Working knowledge of W3C web standards; Experience in mobile app development; Strong software troubleshooting skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
