Position of Onceiro after the recent statements of CAFIB July 7th, 2014 Club ONCEIRO has always had as its main and only objective the breeding of the authentic fila brasileiro. This we declared in our Declaration of 16.7.2014 when we strictly refused to take part in the politicking between the clubs and the breeders in Brazil in connection with crisis of Club CAFIB. However, since then, CAFIB has sent out to the whole world a series of false and offensive e-mails about our Club, and so we are forced to reply with the exposure of more detailed facts. Real fileiros have one interest--interest in the breed fila brasileiro. Guided by this same concern, Brazilian fileiros in 1978 founded CAFIB. Guided by the same interest, Czech fileiros in 2000, founded the club ONCEIRO. As news of the disastrous situation within the current leadership of the club CAFIB began to filter out of Brasil, we, as fileiros, began to search for the causes. The first question was whose interests are being served in this situation? Whose interests benefit from the violation of the norms and code of ethics stated by original CAFIB? Whose interests are served if real fileiros-cafibianos, world-renowned judges, long-serving former Presidents and even well-recognized breeders are driven out of the club? Whose interests are served – after the drive-out of mentioned brasilein fileiros from CAFIB - if the one true authentic fila club in Europe aligned with CAFIB since 2000 in friendly collaboration is slandered? Foolproof answer is – certainly not in the interest of fila brasileiro, but against him. Again the evidence points to a single kennel. An overview of the facts known to the Onceiro in chronological order: 1) The publication of the so-called visual standard for CAFIB and posted on their website that featured almost exclusively some dogs from Itanhandu kennel. This standard was criticized by a majority of CAFIB representatives, yet was pushed through by a couple officials united with the kennel Itanhandu in violation of the norms and ethics established by original CAFIB. This is attested to by many emails from that era. 2) More violations of the established rules of CAFIB by the kennel Itanhandu were brought to the attention of the Board of Directors. These violations included the disregard of breeding rules and the regulations of exhibition. Again this is attested to by many emails from Mr. Fernando Zanetti, Caíco Cintra, Tenisson Cavalcante and others. 3) The directors of CAFIB refused to solve the situation, on the contrary by their behavior it was made worse. There was fraud when the Bureau Secretary Miss Mariana Campbell falsified a resolution of the presidency. Eventually, this situation led to the resignation and departure of the long-standing previous President of the Club, judge and breeder F. Zanetti in November 2013. 4) Shortly before the resignation of Mr. F. Zanetti, Mr. F. Peltier made false and outrageous statements against F. Zanetti and J. Kubeša with regard to Fada do Itanhandu. Mr. Zanetti and Mr. Kubeša explained and defended the fundamental principles of CAFIB about the non-acceptance of trained dogs for the test of temperament. The owners of Fada not only knew of the rule to not train the Fila Brasileiro for the test of temperament, but they flaunted videos showing the famous training center where Fada was trained and mocking the Expo. These same owners of Fada only participated in the analysis and refused to enter the competition, yet began boasting of Fada’s success at the famed Onceiro Expo. Mr. F. Peltier widely circulated emails telling lies and denigrating Mr. F. Zanetti and Mr. J. Kubeša. The two asked for apologies, but the leaders of CAFIB never reacted to the lies of F. Peltier. 5) Mr. A. Campbell himself was discredited in the eyes of the cynologic public and fileiros by his approach in this matter, when in his email from 20.11.2013 specifically wrote: „We all know that only a minimum dogs of any breed would be aproved in this very hard test. I confess that I was very impressed by what Fada did.“… This club is widely known for its intensive training of working guard dogs in this Club. The Phoenix Club is known for its success in training good guard dogs and the videos that were posted attested to the size and scope of this club. Mr. A. Campbell watched the videos and posted his congratulations for Fada receiving a Certificate after having participated in such a program. After this fundamental switch from the foundational principles of CAFIB, many fileiros expressed doubt that his opinion as a judge of CAFIB could be counted as worthwhile any longer. For many fileiros worldwide Mr. A. Campbell discredited himself as an expert when he defended a trained fila and it left a question as to why. People wondered if the reason was that Fada was from kennel Itanhandu. 6) democratic legitimacy and validity of the resolutions adopted by the presidency of CAFIB in recent years has become very questionable, as evidenced by, for example, by circumstances around the last meeting of the leadership of the CAFIB 30.11.2013. The former Financial Director Mr. Caíco Cintra wasnt informed about this meeting, learned about it until then, and in protest of his disagreement with decisions adopted at this meeting he resigned on December 5th, 2013. ATUALMENTE ESTA NUMA CONTA DO PAG SEGURO EM MEU NOME,ESPERO A MAIS RAPIDA RESOLUÇÃO. ABRAÇOS A TODOS. The General Secretary of CAFIB Mr. Tenisson Cavalcante also was not invited to this meeting. When he discovered that an important meeting on November 30th was taking place, he went, at his own expense. The whole weekend he was working for the success of the current exhibition CAFIB, and then he was at the request of the owners of the kennel do Itanhandú prohibited to participate in a meeting of the leadership of the CAFIB. The decisions of CAFIB at the meetings were apparently taken only by selected representatives of the Club and by selected breeders, where others officials of CAFIB were not invited, and those who have arrived in spite of that, were prevented to participate at these meetings. 7) Resignation of Mr. T. Cavalcante as a result of this and the previous events is dated 27.12.2013. CAFIB received it in the first days of January. We have complete text. 8) 10.2.2014 judge Jan Kubeša received an email from Mr. A. Campbel who invited him as a judge for the exhibition in Goiania this year stating that it is agreed with the organizer Mr. T. Cavalcante. „Sabemos que a Cintia convidou Jaime e o Américo para julgarem em Itanhandu em 27 de abril e o Tênisson convidou o Jan para julgar em Goiânia no 2º semestre. A diretoria esta muito entusiasmada com a vinda de vocês para julgarem no Brasil. Esperamos que os convites se tornem realidade.“ It was disappointing to find out that Mr. Campbell wrote the untruth – that was false and manipulative. In fact, Mr. Tenisson did not invited Mr. Jan Kubeša, because he was determined as a result of problems of CAFIB not to organize an exhibition in 2014. 9) In the case of the Exhibition of CAFIB 2014 in North Carolina, USA, the leadership of CAFIB offered three options as a judge after refusing Mr. F. Zanetti. Several emails were sent to suggest strongly Jonas or Marianna. Mr. Pedro Borotti was mentioned as a third possibility, but pressure was exerted for only Jonas. Here is an excerpt from one of the emails: O juíz designado para as 2 Expos , será o Sr. Jonas Tadeu Iacovantuono . O Jonas é juíz do Cafib a quase 30 anos , tem profundo conhecimento sobre o Fila Brasileiro , é um juíz respeitadíssimo no meio cinológico cafibeano ,tem larga experiência em pista . trata-se de excelente profissional , temos certeza de que vocês iráo gostar muito do trabalho do Jonas . Também estará em pista , como assistente de juíz , o brasileiro residente nos EEUU , Sr. Claudio Rufino . Quanto às despesas do juíz , como , passagens , tranlados , hoteis , refeições , obviamente serão por conta dos organizadores . Portanto gostaria de sugerir algo como , passagens BRASIL/USA/BRASIL poderia de ser de responsabilidade de um , como por exemplo o Juan e os translados dentro do país , da Linda . Luciano Gavião Presidente CAFIB Brasil It was a surprise for Mr. Gaviao to learn that Mr. Pedro Borotti was contacted directly by Amy Frydach and that he had accepted the invitation. Mr. Pedro Borotti did not learn of the Expo in North Carolina until contacted by Amy, the show chair and then by Mr. Fernando Zanetti. Since the board of CAFIB had offered his name as an option, they agreed to allow Mr. Borotti to judge after the good news of Mr. Borottis acceptance was made public. Supported by F. Zanetti and breeders from the USA. 10) from February 2014, we have asked several times president of CAFIB Mr. L. Gaviao as well as the new General Secretary Miss Mariana Campbell, to send certificates of analysis from September 2013 and pedigrees for litter of Mr. F. Dojčáka, born in December 2013. The two executives of CAFIB repeatedly promised to send the required documents, but up today we have received nothing. As it is evidenced in writing, Mariana Campbell repeatedly alleged false reasons why she had not yet done and sent these documents, and which in fact consisted in bad cooperation between her and the President of the CAFIB L. Gaviao, and her approach to the performance of her duties. Substantiated by emails. The fact that up today, it means 10 months after the analysis, which the CAFIB declared as its action, CAFIB has not sent the relevant certificates is an expression of arrogance of club CAFIB and contempt for all participants of this analysis-exhibition – as members of ONCEIRO, so non-members of ONCEIRO, as well as all foreign participants who have full right to obtain these certificates. 11) On 25. March 2014 ONCEIRO objected in written form against the type of promotion of the exhibition in Itanhandú that had been started without the consent of ONCEIRO and its members by using the photos of our members and of our exhibitions that is unethical. In its reply, the President of the CAFIB L. Gaviao replied that he does not understand why should it be unethical, and took no action. Substantiated by emails. 12) On May 29th, 2014 A. Campbell in his email. about his opinion and opinion of CAFIB about ONCEIRO, wrote: „ I cant believe that the ONCEIRO wanted to cancel its relationship with CAFIBem, who has 36 years of work and is known throughout the world as a club, who saved the breed Fila brasileiro from extinction due to uncontrolled crossing to be joined with the Club, which has not yet been established. Onceiro and CAFIB have shared more than a decade of history and work to best Fila with many achievements. I do not believe that the ONCEIRO wanted to cancel its relationship with CAFIB, where it has registered its filas more than 10 years to do adventurous step, and without informing the Directory of CAFIB and specially Américo, which has a great admiration and respect for the President of ONCEIRO Mr. Jan Kubeša“. 13) taking account about all these known facts about CAFIB, the General Assembly of ONCEIRO as the highest authority of the Club has adopted by a vote its decision: ONCEIRO continues to have as its main objective to preserve and improve the pure and authentic fila brasileiro, in accordance with the new standard of this breed written in 1978 by Dr. Paulo Santos Cruz for the CAFIB and equally to comply with the ethical principles expressed in the 10 Commandments CAFIB. ONCEIRO is not adequately informed about the situation in Brazil and, therefore, will not take any party to the dispute between current and unfortunately already former members of the CAFIB. Starting from point 1), SKK ONCEIRO, and its members will in accordance with their consideration cooperate with all who share the objective referred to in point 1). After a wide discussion about who will be the judge of this years exhibition of the ONCEIRO General Assembly as the highest authority of the Club voted and decided that in the case that Mr. Américo cannot arive, ONCEIRO prefers the former presidents of CAFIB Caíco (who judged here 9 years ago) or Fernando (who is very appreciated for its professionalism and personal integrity). Due to the fact that Caíco does not judge this year, Fernando was invited and accepted our invitation. 14) After the finishing of the General Assembly on May 31st, 2014, the president of ONCEIRO Mr. J. Kubeša contacted by phone Mr. Américo to inform him personally about the assembly and the decision taken in respect of the judgement of the exhibition ONCEIRO, 2014, and the reasons that led to that decision. 15) On June 10th, 2014 President of the CAFIB Mr. L. Gaviao wrote a personal letter to the President of ONCEIRO, in which he pointed out that Miss Campbell was unable to travel to the CZECH REPUBLIC for exhibition ONCEIRO in September, offered hinmself as the judge for this exhibition, and assured that the CAFIB works normally, directly to the great future, and that is thanks to its current leadership. Substantiated by email. 16) On June 18th, 2014 ONCEIRO has informed in writing the President of CAFIB Mr. Luciano Gaviao about the decision taken by the General Assembly. Substantiated by email. It should be noted that the ONCEIRO has adopted this resolution being conscious of all negative informations and the fact that the current CAFIB for longer time has been unfaithful to his principles upon which it was built. Onceiro by declaring its neutrality in the dispute between brazilian breeders united around CAFIB, gave to the management of CAFIB the opportunity to think about it and to prove by its following behavior that for CAFIB is priority the work for the fila brasileiro. 17) Unfortunately, the opposite has become a reality. To our great surprise, instead of respecting the outcome of the democratic vote of the supreme authority of ONCEIRO, which gave the priority to the successful realization of the exhibition in favour of the fila brasileiro and refused politic, the current leadership of CAFIB once again demonstrated his arrogance and lack of good manners and to email of ONCEIRO did not respond at all. Instead, it has published its polical statement from 10.7.2014 that contains a number of false claims, including the way how the delegation of the judge for the exhibition ONCEIRO 2014 was done. Others, even more aggressive and unconscious statements of CAFIB against ONCEIRO followed on 16.7.2014, 28.7.2014 and 2.8.2014. Their aggressive tone and threats toward members of the CAFIB and to ONCEIRO, exclusion, etc. (absurd considering that ONCEIRO has never been a member of the CAFIB and between the two clubs existed the whole time a friendly relationship), as well as non-democratic principles applied in the decision-making by leadership of CAFIB raises a presumption that this leadership that is so keen to talk about democracy, on the contrary, probably inspired itself by the practices of the military junta ruling in Brazil not quite long ago. Due to the proven facts, there is no doubt that the original CAFIB does not already exist. The current leadership of CAFIB acts exactly just as leadership of CBKC at the end of 70ieth in favour of some breeders and to the detriment of fila brasileiro. Against the real fileiros uses the methods of former CBKC - the ostracism, threats, an effort to defame the breeders. All of this does no happen by accident. And the answer to the most important question, to whom it serves, or in whom´s interest it has been happening, is obvious. With such a leadership of CAFIB ONCEIRO does not want to and cannot have anything in common. At his moment we end our relationships and eventual new cooperation is possible only in case that CAFIB will become again a club it was after its foundation. ONCEIRO will continue to work equally as has benn doing up today, open to cooperation with all the clubs and breeders, whose primary interest is the well being of fila brasileiro. It will continue to be the club which faithfully represents and realize the original ideals of the CAFIB in Europe. Presidency of ONCEIRO
