Position opening: University of Delaware (Newark, DE) The newly formed Center for Assessment Research and Translation in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware is about to open job searches seeking PhD-level candidates for newly established research positions. Successful candidates will play a major role in establishing a new college-wide research center at the University of Delaware devoted to the development and utilization of assessment and outcomes measures and their translation into clinical practice. The successful candidates will assume roles on currently funded grants related to (1) Outcomes assessment in amputee and orthopedic medicine, (2) the development of new Quality of Life instruments targeted for rehabilitation populations, (3) the development of new neuropsychological measures including the assessment of cognitive functioning, (4) the standardization of common outcomes measures to be used across a variety of research settings and (5) research designed to improve quality of life following Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Traumatic Amputation, or other traumatic injury. Successful candidates will be expected to provide oversight and assistance on a wide range of laboratory activities. Responsibilities include project management, study coordination, data management/analyses, preparation of findings for publication, and supervision of research assistants. The candidate will participate on the preparation of grant proposals and is expected to prepare their own submissions that are relevant to the mission of the Center for Assessment Research and Translation. Qualifications include a record of publishing and preparing/competing for federally funded grants (or the promise of being able to do so), and strong statistical, data management, and writing skills. The successful candidates should have postdoctoral experience in rehabilitation, neuropsychology, and/or health-related research. Experience in psychological assessment, patient reported outcomes, amputee & orthopedic medicine, traumatic brain injury and/or spinal cord injury medicine, virtual reality, psychometrics and test development, and/or item response theory is preferred. Level will be dependent upon experience and accomplishments and the candidates may be eligible for a secondary faculty appointment.
