Post National Day diagnosis and prognosis: The young patient is fundamentally strong, capable and potentially very healthy and happy. However, she has chronic problems in her social protection system and to fully mature and achieve her wonderful potential, also needs to develop political independence and resilience. Both these faculties are underdeveloped for a bright young person at her stage in life. Two major treatments are urgently needed: First an overhaul of social policy involving six major operations - affordable housing, healthcare, (both ops only half done) , social security, education, public transport and immigration policy. Second, and for her over- protective parents the most difficult - major political liberalization involving media freedom, guaranteed public access to information, an independent judiciary, free and strong civic society, independence of government from political parties. It would greatly help her lifelong resilience to disease if her key ward the government would develop strong and supportive ties with civic society independent of the shorter term interference of all political parties for her long term common good.
