Attributes That a candidate should have the following attributes; (a) Maturity and sound judgment; (b) Visionary and Strategic Thinker; (c) Bringing dignity to the office of the Principal of College; (d) Global outlook in Higher Education Policy and Environment; (e) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle the diverse College community (f) Integrity, sensitivity and concern with equity; (g) Proven understanding of operations of Government; (h) Having a track record of good management, administration and possess knowledge of operations of Government; (i) Having a track record of ability to mobilize and manage resources; (j) Knowledge of Higher Education Policies and Operations; and (k) Have a good track record of research and publications. Eligibility The person eligible for appointment should possess the following minimum attributes: (i) Hold a PhD or other academic Doctorate; (ii) Be at least of the rank of Associate Professor or its equivalent at the time of application; (iii) At least Three (3) years managerial ability if) Institution of Higher Learning or Research Institution with a track record of having served as Head of academic Department or as Academic Programmes Coordinator or Research Project Manager; (iv) Teaching experience of four(4) years in at least one of the disciplines offered in the college he/she intends to lead; (v) Be at least 40 years old and not beyond 61 years at the time of applying Job application procedure Mode of Application (i) Interested individuals should submit a letter of applkation accompanied with Curriculum Vitae, copies of relevant Academic Credentials and naming three referees; (ii) Letters of nomination from third parties are also welcome for the position so long as they are submitted with Curriculum Vitae, copies of relevant Academic Credentials and naming three referees; (iii) Applicants should make sure that at least two referees have forwarded references concerning their applications by the stated deadline; (iv) The deadline for submission of application and nomination letters is Friday 21st November, 2014 at 5.00pm East African time; (v) Applications should be submitted to: The Academic Registrar, Makerere University, Senate Building, Room 602 P.O.
