The Programme Officer reports to the Assistant Secretary-General, Enterprise Resource Planning Project. Umoja is a continuous organizational transformation project to enable high-quality, cost-effective service delivery for evolving United Nations mandates, anywhere in the world. By updating skills, harmonizing practices and applying global technology, Umoja intends to maximize productivity of the UNs human, financial and material resources. Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience advising senior officials on strategic issues related to project implementation within an international organization is required. Experience working on business re-engineering projects is required. Experience coordinating the work of the front office of a senior official is desirable. Experience within the UN system is also desirable. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French Umoja transcends organizational, geographical and functional barriers, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, empowerment, sharing and unity across the United Nations.
