Power Hungry PDP Bartering interests Of State with BJP: Rather =>Saying that the current parliamentary election is a litmus test to show to the world and the country that the people of J&K are truly secular and communal harmony is their ethos, senior NC leader and Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Mr.A.R.Rather has asked the people to give massive mandate to the NC-congress Candidates. He said inflicting a crushing defeat to BJP and PDP will be the appropriate reply to such communal and divisive forces. Addressing a series of election public gatherings at Shankerpora, Nagabal-Yousmarg, Phutlipora, Dardapora and other wayside public meetings during an impressive road show on the last leg of the election campaigning, Mr.Rather said both BJP and PDP are opportunists who want to grab the power by dividing the society on religion and regional basis adding that “if we fail to curb such communal and divisive forces at this stage, the posterity will never forgive us. He said, for the first time in the democratic history, the country is facing a serious threat at the hands of communal and fanatic forces that are terrorising minorities brazenly for short term political benefits. “ In lust of power, BJP and its radical allies are polarising the society on communal basis and hatred not withstanding the fact that it is harmful for the unity and integrity of the country” , Mr.Rather added. Taking on PDP for its secret understanding with BJP, despite knowing that its ideology and policies are against the values of communal harmony and secular ethos of the state, Mr.Rather said these power hungry parties have lost all the ethics and principles of democracy and can go to any extent for garbing power. He said PDP is basically the Brain Child of BJP created with the intention to divide the secular votes of the state to pave way for success of the BJP candidates so that the real voice of the States people is gagged from reaching the parliament. However sagacious people of the State have understood its double standards and will not allow them to succeed in their nefarious designs, Mr.Rather added. He said foreseeing a humiliating defeat in the current elections they have now resorted to violence and character assassination of the leaders of NC and Congress. He said, in fact leaders of PDP have always brought miseries and hardships to the people of the state adding that Mufti Mohd.Sayeed during his tenure as Home Minister of India brought draconian laws in the state besides appointing known fanatic, Jagmohan as Governor of the state who played a naked dance of death and destruction in Kashmir. “They are the people who created the Amarnath land row crises during its rule which gave rise to most ugly communal polarisation between Kashmir and Jammu division. On this occasion a road show was conducted to seek mandate for NC president Dr.Farooq Abdullah, who is NC-congress alliance candidate for Srinagar-Budgam Parliamentary constituency.(GNS)
