Prayer part 3 Prayer part 3 12/30/2014 10:25 PM You know youre getting older when in an effort to stay humble, you dont always say Thank You to the complements to your posts. I guess the reason I dont always do that is because I never want what I say about Christ to be about me. I may not take compliments well, but I do appreciate the kind words and the motivation to keep sharing my take on our walk as Christians. As far as a calling, or my calling, I dont think so much in terms of a particular or specific calling, I generally write as He moves me to do so, knowing that if I do His will, He will lead me to do what He has planned to do through me, whatever that purpose may be. Its a day to day thing, not really one with my own personal agenda. That being said, since my last few posts have been about prayer, I will share with you a prayer of mine that I have prayed on more than one occasion. My prayer was or is, that He teach me to be a true man of God and a true effective Christian soldier. I asked Him to give me the faith of Abraham, the obedience and leadership of Moses, the heart of David, the wisdom of Solomon, the dedication to His people of Esther, the perseverance of Daniel, the courage of Joshua, the humbleness of Christ, Himself, and to spread the Gospel with the ability of Paul. Yes, I know that is asking alot, but I want every measure He has to offer. I leave it in His hands to answer that prayer as He sees fit. Has He answered that prayer? Yes, in some ways. Hes still working on me in others. Some He may not give me, but it doesnt matter because what He does give me is done in His wisdom not mine so its all good. I didnt ask Him for all those things so I could be someone great in my or other peoples eyes. I asked Him that so I could do great things for Him in His eyes to bring Him the Glory He deserves. Actually, it is a prayer I think we all should pray. Think about it. If we all prayed that prayer and he answered each one of us to the extent that is best for His Kingdom, what a difference we could all make for each other, for other Christians, and those who have yet to accept Him as their Savior. If you could imagine a light come on with each person dedicating themselves to Christ, whether a brand new Christian or a continuing Christian drawing closer to Him, it could look like the Verizon cell phone coverage map on their tv ad with dots lighting up all over the place!! So again, I do appreciate your comments and Thank You, but the devil will try to get me to turn it into something about me, not Christ, so I try to stay humble when I read your comments so as not to give him a way to diminish the message about Christ. That is something that has taken me a long time to learn, its not about me, its all about Christ my friends, its all about Christ.
