Prayers to the family, friends and fans of sprint car driver Kevin - TopicsExpress

Prayers to the family, friends and fans of sprint car driver Kevin Ward, Jr., the 20-year-old sprint car driver who was struck by Tony Stewarts car and crushed by Stewarts cars right rear wheel in a race as Ward stood on the track in upstate New York last night. Ward died of his injuries at the track. The local sheriffs department is investigating, and Tony Stewart is said to be cooperating fully. Stewart is not competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series evemt today at Watkins Glen Raceway. It is very true that, in the past, Stewart has handled himself in a way that would make it easy for us to conclude that Stewart lost his temper and purposely struck the other driver. It is also very possible that Stewart would never intentionally do such a thing. Have your opinion on it as you please, but my hope is that due process sorts this thing out. The bottom line is that a 20-year-old young man is dead and another driver was driving the car which crushed him to death, and must live the rest of his life with that. Send a prayer or thought to everyone who needs it. I have known and lost people who were in either of these positions. It affects everybody. Every time.
