Pre-Cast Concrete Installer UK Wide £11 per hour plus night out allowance This is a temporary role leading to a permanent contract for the successful candidate. Our expanding pre-cast concrete client is looking to supplement the current work-force with additional staff. The role involves the installation of pre-cast concrete structures UK wide the company has a secure and increasing order book for 2013 and beyond in various sectors of the construction industry and this may become a permanent role for successful candidates. The Role The role involves being away from home on a week by week basis M – F You will be expected to set out pre-cast concrete panels (sized between 3m to 12m) with help of slinger/banksman and telehandlers for some very large structures. An element of the role will involve the use of hand tools and hydraulic jacks for post-tensioning of the installed pre-cast concrete structure as will working at height and outside at all times. Manual handling will be expected within scope of the job and the candidate must be fit and mobile enough for this type of work Working alongside the experienced pre-cast concrete installers to gain the relevant experience and training the candidate will be expected to work long hours from time to time and weekend working may be required in extreme circumstances. There is an opportunity for the candidate to progress to be a senior installer and work as a foreman therefore leadership and an appreciation of general construction principles will be helpful. Duties include; • Basic Setting out • Slinging & Banking of pre-cast components • Erection and Post-tensioning of pre-cast concrete structures • Use of large plant- telehandlers, cherry pickers, scissor lifts • Use of small pant and power tools In order to be considered for this role our client is seeking a candidate with experience of the pre-cast concrete market and a current CSCS card. They must have knowledge of concrete repair products, sealants and mastics and a strong desire to progress within a team to a senior installer role. Banksman/slinger and telehandler tickets helpful but not essential.
