Preachers are not painters tasked with painting an unrealistic view of reality to please the masses. We are not performers tasked with putting on a show to entertain a drama-driven people. We are most compared to the surgeon who is tasked with providing the problem--even when it does not desire to be heard--and prescribing the only Solution, which is Christ, that pertains to life and godliness. The preacher is given a sharp two-edged sword that must be used with accurate precision and loving kindness. It is truly a delicate and rewarding process.
