Preparing for our upcoming lecture to Barrington Preservation Society Feb 5th. Here is the title & summary. Contextual Sustainability: An Architects Lifelong Path Towards The Discovery of Vernaculars Contemporary Relevance. David Andreozzi has been forging his personal architectural statement, project by project, for over 25 years. This journey has led to an understanding that, in order for architecture to be truly successful, it’s the innate social responsibility of the owner and architect to relate our built environment to the local historical fabric, course of architectural history, and building vernacular through the scale of buildings, idiosyncratic cultural symbolism, proper relationship of details and local time tested building regional materials with the use of local craftsmanship. Davids practice is in here in Barrington, graduated from Barrington High School in 1979, earned his art and architecture degrees at RISD, and currently lives in Bristol RI where he served on their local historic district commission as chairman for years. David currently holds the National Chairmanship for the AIA’s Custom Residential Architects Network, and he was most recently appointed to the board of the New England Institute of Architecture and Art. barrpreservation.org/
