***Preserving Your Generation (Part 3)*** PASSION FOR IMPACT (Part 2) Genesis 37:5-11. When Joseph was growing up, the first thing we noticed is that he knew his purpose and his direction. Joseph was sure of his destiny because he saw the picture of his future through dreams. Joseph believed in God and himself. But the contrary started happening when his brothers developed hatred towards him. They envied him and planned against him. If you have a dream and you are working towards preserving your generation, people will hate and criticise you. They did it to Jesus, we are not excluded. People will try to pull you down, think of Joseph. People will label you all kinds of names, but you must never give up. Lets carefully study what happened to Joseph. In verse 18-22, there was a conspiracy against him. After that, he was almost killed, but his brother (Reuben) pleaded with them, not to shed blood. Most times, when you are in the will of God and you are doing your best to live right and avoid sin, you cant be cut short. You may go through issues and challenges, but they will never destroy your soul. No matter what you go through in life, dont compromise your Christian faith and values. God knows how to deliver you from troubles. God knows how to help you out, but when you continually live in sin, you shorten the hand of God and put your life in danger. When you deviate from God and start living another life, you will also lack the protection of God. So many young people have been cut short in life because they deviated from the right path. Because Joseph was in the right path with God, his life was protected and secured for Gods purpose. In verse 18, the bible states “…they conspired against him to slay him.” but in verse 22, Reuben came up and gave a different suggestion; the bible states. And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again. What a good suggestion! After all, a pit is better than a grave; that was God’s intervention. Whenever you are going through hard times and your life is in danger, may God raise up a ‘Reuben’ on your behalf. If Joseph had died there, he wouldnt have preserved his generation. One of the ways of preserving your generation is to always allow God to guide and direct your steps. If you put your life in Gods hand, it doesnt matter who wants to kill you, God will protect and preserve you, so that you can preserve your generation. OH GOD, DELIVER US FROM UNTIMELY DEATH, SO THAT WE CAN PRESERVE OUR GENERATION IN JESUS’ NAME... “Amen” ***get the audio message (PASSION FOR IMPACT) here: https://opendrive/files?NV80MTMyMTcxNV93QjFVcQ
