President Jonathan is responsible for Nyako’s impeachment-APC The All Progressive Congress, APC, has accused Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan, of complicity in the impeachment of former Adamawa State governor, Murtala Nyako. Speaking to journalists in a press briefing, the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, said the president has bastardized all institutions in the country and has now moved to the realm of impeachment of opposition governors. “Having bastardized the army, the police, the courts, aviation and the electoral commission, he has now moved to the next level: Impeachment,” Mr. Odigie-Oyegun said. “Every impeachment or threat of it in recent times has the imprint of President Jonathan.” The opposition party leader said Mr. Jonathan is set to break record of the president with the highest number of impeachment. He raised fears that the impeachment moves would reach more APC states including Nasarawa, Edo, Rivers and Borno. “All Nigerians must be worried about power with impunity, which is what President Goodluck Jonathan and his party, the PDP, have resorted to in their desperation to crush the opposition and destroy Nigeria in the process,” he said. Mr. Odigie-Oyegun also said that Mr. Nyako was impeached for crimes he allegedly committed five years ago. “What was Nyako impeached for? Offences he allegedly committed five years ago. Those offences were not impeachable when he was in the PDP. But the moment he decamped to the APC, they became impeachable,” he said. prime chronicle
