They will also send technical specialists to assist with investigation as more information about the fate of MH370 is known French delegate who led the Air France investigation will be assisting Have requested expert USA remote operated vehicles to assist with deep searches Kazakhstan confirmed no trace of MH370 Kazakhstan will be set up as the staging point for the northern corridor SAR Ukraine has confirmed that background checks on their nationals are clear He then spoke about the satellite data (I hope I get this right). They receive the raw data at 1500 on 12/03/14 (03/12/14 for those who use MM/DD/YY); this data is not normally used in investigations but was used as there was so little other information to go on. Discussed with USA team regarding how to use the data; it was sent to USA to process. They provided the initial results on 13/03/14. Further refinement required so it was sent back and received on 14/03/14. Investigation team met regarding the data on 15/03/14. The UK AAIB conducted an independent assessment of the data and their results concurred with that of USA and Malaysia Prime Minister was informed on Saturday and then he gave a press conference. This data led to the shifting of the SAR to the Northern and Southern Corridors Have had a briefing with relatives in Kuala Lumpur; gave update and answered most questions and cleared up areas of confusion for families Briefings with families will continue at their request and for as long as they want them High level team arrived for briefing with family for 3 hours (included various agencies) This is a multi-national effort and they continue to receive offers of assistance; they welcome all offers of assistance as they follow all credible leads
