Press Release: Indian Assistance for school in Doti District During his visit to Doti District on 19 March 2014, Ambassador of India, Ranjit Rae inaugurated the newly constructed school building for Shree Janata Primary School under Nepal- India Economic Cooperation Programme. The function was attended by the representatives of District Development Committee, Doti, community leaders and a large number of people from the area. Established in 1983, Shree Janata Primary School is situated at Ghanteshwar VDC, Ward No. 1, Goganpani in Doti District, Far Western Development Region. The new school building constructed with Indian assistance of NRs. 7.1 million will help in the creation of better facilities for about 200 students in the pursuit of their study programmes in keeping with their educational needs and towards raising enrolment in this school. In his address, Ambassador of India underlined the importance of the Nepal–India Economic Cooperation Programme as a cornerstone of the development partnership between the two countries. He expressed the hope that the various projects being implemented under the programme will help the people of Nepal in their strides towards peace and prosperity. In addition to this school, construction of two school buildings namely Shree Ghanteshwor Higher Secondary School, Laxminagar VDC and Shree Saraswati Primary School, Durgamandu VDC in also going on with Indian assistance of NRs. 18.9 million. India has also provided five ambulances and one school bus for use in the district. Recognizing the importance of accelerating growth in Nepal, India remains committed to rendering all possible assistance in that direction. The India – Nepal Economic Programme has an outlay of over NRs. 65 billion with more than 475 large and small development projects completed or currently being implemented in almost all the districts of Nepal.
