Press Release – A Kenyan Gathering of Solidarity in Canada! In response to the recent heinous attacks at Westgate Mall, Kenyans in Toronto are compelled to come together to show support and unity, as the country starts to heal. Kenyans and friends of Kenyans in Ontario are invited to participate in this tribute to all the fellow Kenyans we have lost and to all the heroic Kenyans who are willing to stand up against terrorism. The purpose of this gathering is to: Support Kenyans in Canada that have lost loved ones Condemn violence and terrorism Express to Kenyans at home that we stand strongly by them, even if we live far away Appeal to the Kenyan public to be vigilant and to support each other Appeal to the Canadian government for a continued assistance to Kenyans in an effort to fight terrorism During the gathering we will create a unique collage with messages for Kenyans at home, recite prayers and share thoughts. Both the President of the Kenyan Community in Ontario, Mr. Ben Ondoro, and A representative from the Kenyan High Commission in Ottawa, Canada among other invited guests will be speaking.
