Narrative MRI CERVICAL SPINE WITHOUT CONTRAST 11/12/2014. CLINICAL HISTORY: Radiculopathy COMPARISON: None available TECHNIQUE: Using a Phillips 1.5 Tesla imaging system multiple MR sequences were obtained of the cervical spine using the standard University of Michigan MRI cervical spine without contrast protocols. FINDINGS: The cervical spine is visualized from the skull base to the inferior aspect of T3. There is loss of the normal cervical lordosis, with mild kyphosis centered at C5. There is mild retrolisthesis of C5 on C6. The visualized vertebral body height appears maintained. There is endplate degenerative marrow signal changes, most prominent surrounding the C5-6 disc. Otherwise the bone marrow signal is within normal limits. No cord signal abnormality is identified in the cervical medullary junction or visualized spinal cord. Level by level findings are as follows: At C2-C3 there is no significant neuroforaminal narrowing or central canal stenosis. At C3-4 there is no significant neural foraminal narrowing or central canal stenosis. At C4-5 there is disc osteophyte complex and facet hypertrophy which results in severe right and mild left neural foraminal narrowing narrowing. No central canal stenosis. At C5-6 there is disc bulging and facet hypertrophy which results in moderate to severe right and moderate left neural foraminal narrowing. No central canal stenosis. At C6-7 there is mild diffuse disc osteophyte which results in mild bilateral neural foraminal narrowing. No central canal stenosis. At C7-T1 there is disc osteophyte complex which results in mild left neural foraminal narrowing.
