Primary Day is Here. * * * No, I wont say, go out and vote! today because I assume were all grown-ups here who pay attention. Yet this is Primary Day in Iowa with plenty of intriguing races to get hammered out. I will be in Des Moines chasing the leaders in the Republican Senate Nomination. Well have crews all over the state tonight on KCRG-TV 9 as we have open nominations in Iowas 1st District (Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Waterloo/Cedar Falls) and the Republican primary in the 2nd District (Iowa City/Davenport). Well have previews at 5pm and 6pm. Polls close at 9 so Ill tap dance and do the quick math of the reporting precincts at 10. As a former sports anchor, I love this day. An election day is as close to covering a sporting event as it gets in news. Awaiting the score, navigating the post-game clichés, celebrations and defeats. Bring it on. - Chris
