~ Primary Purpose ~ After years of mindless indulgence, we were finally driven to our knees. A divinely inspired, design for living laid before us. God sought fit to utilize those entrenched in bitter contrast, to be the messengers of hope. Inflicted with a spiritual malady, we were lifted up from the ashes of a desperate state of despair. God cradled our wounded, broken spirits and breathed life back into us. We were the chosen, a concept which we struggled to comprehend. Our path seemed daunting, our scares still fresh but, somehow we were able to revive a morsel of faith. The path before us cluttered with debris, we courageously stepped forward, through the mine field of what was once “the forbidden zone”. We came to understand that the old rules of; don’t trust, don’t talk and don’t tell only served our lowest good. We divulged our inner most selves, stood vulnerable before our God and asked to be relieved of our shortcomings. As unfamiliar and foreign as it seemed to us, we set forth upon our journey, imparting our experiences to others as a means of restitution. Gathering together in anonymous assemblies, we gave testimony to relieve the burden, which weighed heavily upon us. We began to dismantle self-centeredness, as we gave freely of ourselves. Service to others has become the most fundamental act of selflessness. Sharing our experience, strength and hope is the bond that draws us together. Now, recovered from a hopeless state of mind and body, we continue to broaden our spiritual life. Each day we are provided an opportunity to set right any harm done, as we practice spiritual principles. Unconditional acceptance of others dismantles isolation and separation of our fellows. Clearly, we can see where our usefulness to others has become our life’s purpose. Our spiritual conditioning requires vigilant practice. Daily prayer and meditation helps to keep us balanced. Downstream Thought: Today, I will keep in fit spiritual condition. When God reveals divine instructions, I will embrace the opportunities to demonstrate selflessness. I am grateful for the blessings in my life.
