Principal Edward Demirdjian has been in contact with the Operation - TopicsExpress

Principal Edward Demirdjian has been in contact with the Operation Commander, Inspector Mark Wall since Saturday. Principal Demirdjian has relayed the College communitys support regarding volunteers, donations, food, water and equipment. Here is a recap of the most recent conversation with Inspector Wall this morning. * Experienced bushwalkers with a high level of fitness are welcome to help, no climbing or abseiling is required. Upon arrival at the Kanangra-Boyd National Park, please go to the Command Post and from there you will be asked to volunteer with either the Volunteer Rescue Association or the Wilderness Bushwalking Association. By volunteering your insurance will be covered by theirs, and they will co-ordinate your efforts. These associations will screen all volunteers for level of experience and fitness before accepting your help. Remember, the terrain is very dangerous. * Any members of the SES please contact your local SES control. * Support is always welcomed, but it requires co-ordination because there is a very narrow car park, and not much room for on-lookers. Galstaun College has been in constant communication with the Simonian family and will be releasing requests for support as they require. Any other updates will be released as they arise.
