Professor Ngi Brown told delegates at the National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Summit in Cairns, Australia, there is growing evidence that promoting & protecting Indigenous culture improves the social factors that lead to poor health. Thats education, school attendance, performance & academic achievement, readiness for jobs, employment rates & then also economic independence & then contribution to society more broadly, she said.
