There is no doubt that president Jonathan is the candidate of PDP for 2015 presidential elections. There is equally no doubt that the #21billion donated by various persons including the chief launcher who donated #2billion did so to the knowledge and approval of the president. Clearly the donations that exceeded #1million was illegal and criminal. The president that accepted the donation has committed a criminal offence under section 91(10) of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended and liable for imprisonment for 12 months or a fine of #1million or both. President Jonathan owe this nation a duty to return the donations that were criminally made and done. We cannot just be allowing our laws to be breached with impunity and fold our arms in dispair. It is sad that a seating president will accept donations for his election in breach of the law.
