Progressive core work for you. The most important thing for core work is your FORM. I experienced #diastisisrecti with all 4 of my pregnancies (a splitting of the abdominal wall) and had to heal it from the inside, out after I gave birth. Keeping your core pulled in tight (pulling your belly button back toward your spine like you do when youre trying to squeeze into your skinny jeans but not as firmly) during ALL exercise is important. This will help to strengthen your INNER core muscles, also knows as your transverse abdominals... Which is one thing most people neglect. They only worry about their 6 pack muscles and not the ones that lie underneath which are really the most important! As you get stronger and can keep perfect form, you can gradually do harder core work!
