Prologue In the Final year of our college in Jan 2009 a bunch of blokes trekked up to the triund hill top (2975 m). Some could not go all the way to the top, and waited behind at Mcleodganj for others to complete the journey. The rest of us marched ahead, braving rains , cold weather and a harsh terrain. Most guys were from the plains and facing such heights for the 1st time. Some of the more foolish among the group attempted to scale a near vertical cliff.. and somehow managed it. all of us were without any trekking shoes,(we were wearing nikes and reeboks and even leather shoes) ,proper clothes , rain cover whatsoever. drenched proper and shivering from cold we arrived at the top , very late in the evening. Return was impossible. At night if the kind forest gaurd would not have lit the fire and given us a place to stay , im sure a few of us would not have returned. ...... but return we did. and we promised to come back and scale those mighty Dhauladhar peaks and cross over to the other side.. to the other world...
