Proudly presenting this weeks AV (Antelope Valley) Press, shelter dogs of the week! (From left to right) A4772391: Marley is an altered, male, German Shepherd Mix who is about 3 years old. He arrived as a stray on 11/02/2014. Marley has a robust and energetic personality, and he jumps for joy upon meeting you. He pulls hard on leash, so he’d benefit from a strong handler. He is a bit mouthy with treats, but is attentive to them. He understands sit, but is easily distracted. With proper and consist training, he would be a good fit for an active family that could provide him ample exercise and training opportunities. A4523228: Mr. Matthew is a male, Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Mix who is about 3 years old. He arrived as a stray on 11/10/2014. Mr. Matthew is overflowing with Husky energy, and he has a robust and engaging personality to match. He pulls hard on leash, so he’ll need a strong handler and obedience training. He is a bit mouthy with treats at first, but becomes gentler after the first few. He understands sit, but is easily distracted - after all he is a Husky. He is a stealth kisser as well. With proper training, he would be best for an on the go and active family that could provide him ample exercise and training. A4778526: Samson is an altered, male, Lhasa Apso Mix who is about two years old. He arrived as a stray on 11/21/2014. Samson was extremely unkempt and matted upon arrival, but the shelter RVT cleaned him up and shaved him which revealed he is blind. Samson is a bit shy upon first meeting, but once he gets familiar with your scent, he warms up and seeks attention. He takes treats very gently, and needs guidance as he walks along leash. He needs that extraordinary someone who could provide for his special needs.
