Romans 13:13-14 NKJV Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Children are precious gifts from God. Unfortunately they do not come with an instruction manual. Parents have a responsibility to raise their children and teach them right, wrong and how to be productive citizens. The parent has the responsibility, not the school, daycare, coach or grandparent. Parents have to dedicate time to their kids in order to raise them properly. Kids learn from an early age by example, mimicking mom and dad, repeating everything they hear. If the parent is absent, they begin to mimicking the tv, video game, or whoever they are around. It is a proven fact that you will begin to conform to your surroundings, if we are not an active part of our kids lives they will fill the void we leave with something else. I see so many young people looking to fill that void, they are looking for guidance and love wherever they can find it. We have to learn not to be so busy that we cant spend time with our kids. We should also be willing to be a mentor to our kids friends or other kids in our communities. So many children come from single parent homes, mom or dad having to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. When we are able we have to stand in the gap for the kid, providing the example of good. If we dont someone else will.
