Proverbs 8: 9 People with good sense know what I say is true; and those with knowledge know my words are right. (NCV) Have you ever been there? The place where you are trying to explain something to someone but they just don’t get what you are saying? At the same time there are others who get it right away. We have a tendency to think what is wrong with those people who don’t get it are they just dumb? The answer is yes, but not in a negative sense. We as people just don’t know what we don’t know. You as a leader need to find ways to communicate, relate, and saturate those who are willing to learn, until they get it. (Don’t try to convert those who are not willing to learn. Just share what you know then leave them room to grow.) For some it is a simple redirect or re framing, the student will see it all as new. For some you need to let them grow, change, and develop. Learn how they learn then feed them in that way until they decide to feed themselves. Have or make use of a system to back up your efforts so they can move through the steps until they get the knowledge that this is good sense. Half of being smart is knowing what you are dumb about.
