They exclude chocolate eclairs and hinge on effective use of that dreaded S word: self-control. In the fruit bowl of the Spirit, self-control is the prune. Its hard to swallow but nonetheless essential to our faith-especially where hope is concerned. If self-control isnt exercised, we can find our spirits soaring up and down faster than the numbers on our bathroom scales. Let eating prunes, daily use of self-control regulates us and prepares us for action.
