Psa. 119:31-I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not - TopicsExpress

Psa. 119:31-I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame. Here is a testimony of one who has not only proven Gods Word, but refuses to be parted from it. The word stuck does mean glued or held fast. Hear Albert Barnes-The word here rendered “stuck” is the same which in Psa_119:25 is rendered “cleave:” - “My soul cleaveth unto the dust.” It means here that he had adhered to the testimonies of God as if he had been glued to them, or as if he and they were firmly united together. He had so adhered to them that he could not be detached from them... It is a word found early in the Bible in Gen. 2:24- “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Do our marriages reflect the character of glue? Does our daily discipline reflect our glue to the Word? I know folks who are more glued to a TV guide, horoscope, or talk show than to the Word. What you are attached to affects you and reflects you. With that in mind, lest us resolve to get glued to the Word of God. We know it changes our lives. The psalmist also prayed he would not be ashamed of his choice. We dont want to fail in our pursuit of God. If we are led by His Spirit we will not fail. Ours is not a Trivial Pursuit but a Truth pursuit. We have ...victory through our Lord Jesus Christ I Cor. 15:57. Praise the Lord!
