Psalm 108:1-3 My heart, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul. Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. I like the KJV here: “O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory”. That’s the core of our commitment to the Lord – a heart that is fixed on Him no matter what comes…a heart we cannot create all on our own. Seasons of pain we cannot imagine, and our response is to hold fast to Him. Great loss or tragedy, perhaps unexpected: and our grip on the Lord tightens because we know that He is the only sure thing. Live unashamed of the gospel, and praise His name in every season, and through every storm!
