Psalmist David was a parody pop tune composer! Is it wrong or - TopicsExpress

Psalmist David was a parody pop tune composer! Is it wrong or less honorable to write a Christian song to a pop tune? Psalmist DAvid did that a number of times! In todays Rock reading (Psalm 58) he commands that the Psalm 58 be sung TO THE TUNE of: DO NOT DESTROY. More examples? PSALM 9 begins, To the choir director, A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune DEATH OF THE SON. PSALM 69 begins, For the director of music. To the tune of Lilies. PSALM 22 A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune DOE OF THE DAWN. So since Psalmist David gives us precedence to compose to secular melodies and supports Christian Parody artists, I give you my friend of nearly 40 years, Ron Perry, who was first introduced by beloved Chuck Smith. Ron has FOUR cds of sanctified oldies. I worked with him in night clubs in the 70s for a year at the MArina Del Rey Yacht Club--until Pat Boone stole him away with a contract. Ron lives in the Lake Elsinore area and if you want to see him praise God in concert with his incredible voice, please go to his website listed on this Youtube entry. So dow e now agree that his music is as honorable to the Lord as Hillsongs? King Dvid would think so! Please enjoy! But my favorite might be Ron singing to the tune of PRETTY WOMAN, Holy Spirit walking down the Street, Holy Spirit, from my head to my feet.
