Psalms 72... David as he prepares his son for the throne prayed - TopicsExpress

Psalms 72... David as he prepares his son for the throne prayed thus; Give the king Your judgments, O God. He will judge Your people with righteousness, and Your poor with justice. vs 1, 2. If you look at David and his son Solomon, you realize that it was David, the father who set the platform for his son to rule. And as we all know, King Solomon reigned in splendor and it was during his reign that Israel reached its golden age; an ideal nation blessed with anything and everything. An example of what it could have been with God at the helm of ever leadership. David prayed thus; Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him, all nations shall serve Him... v 11. Looks beyond the time of Solomon to the King of kings and LORD of lords Jesus Christ who will reign for eternity. Yet, one point is this, as a father what inheritance are we leaving for our children? Are we laying the right foundations now? Yes, I know God is here and will help us and them but God certainly needs us to act sensibly too. And for those whose parents gave everything on a golden plate, the onus is on you to take it to the golden age of your what ever it may be. I have seen kids come in and ruin what their dads, many who were basically uneducated yet hard working men who build up their empires from ground zero. Instead of appreciating and taking it on from there, they drink up every thing. And in the words of a former PM of PNG, the even ate up all the seeds. For those of us who are on the ground zero, simply live to the best you can and always allow for the truth of God to guide your path way... May be a Solomon will come out of you... Even if he does not come, Jesus will come to soon and will reign right through out the eternal ages. So shall we ever be with Him. God bless
