Public Hearing: Proposed Changes to Bus Service on the Bx24, B37, B70, B8 and X17 MTA New York City Transit invites you to comment on the following proposed changes to bus service on the Bx24, B37, B70, B8 and X17: Bx24 Proposed Extension to Hutchinson Metro Center To extend the Bx24 bus service from Westchester Square to the Hutchinson Metro Center via Williamsbridge Road, Waters Place and Marconi Street. The new service would operate every 30 minutes between 6:00 am and 10:30 pm seven days a week. This route extension is planned to begin operating summer 2014. B37, B70 and B8 Proposed Service changes B37 Proposed Service To partially restore the B37 in Brooklyn connecting Bay Ridge and Atlantic Avenue along 3rd Avenue. The B37 would have a southern terminal at Shore Road and 4th Avenue, and travel via Shore Road, 3rd Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, and 4th Avenue to Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center. Traveling southbound, the B37 would use 4th Avenue, Bergen Street, 3rd Avenue and Marine Avenue. The service would operate every 20 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends between 5:00 am and 12:00 am. This route is planned to begin operating summer 2014. B70 Proposed Reroute To reroute the B70 between 92nd Street / 7th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue / 8th Avenue. The southbound B70 would use 70th Street, Ovington Avenue, 7th Avenue, Fort Hamilton Parkway and 92nd Street. The northbound B70 would use Fort Hamilton Parkway, 7th Avenue and the North Service Roadway. There would be no change to frequency or hours of service. This reroute is planned to begin operating summer 2014. B8 Proposed Full-Time Extension To operate the B8 between the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital and the Bay Ridge-95 St R station at all times. Currently, it operates between the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital and the Bay Ridge-95 St R station between 12:00 am and 5:30 am only. From the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital it would operate on Poly Place, 7th Avenue, 92nd Street, 4th Avenue, and terminate on 4th Avenue between 94th Street and 95th Street. There would be no other changes to frequency or hours of service. This extension is planned to begin operating summer 2014. X17 Sunday Service To establish permanent Sunday service on the X17 express bus route operated by MTA New York City Transit. Sunday service was introduced in September 2012 between Huguenot, Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan on an experimental basis. The service operates every hour with trips leaving Huguenot from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm and trips leaving Midtown from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm.
