Public places are PUBLIC places, NOT PRIVATE, so I am against - TopicsExpress

Public places are PUBLIC places, NOT PRIVATE, so I am against people expropriating them as though they OWN them, for use in privately motivated activities that DAMAGE the collective and damage the public places that the whole group provides in the first place. This is the violation which a certain young man who was recently arrested for protesting a verbally abusive preacher on his college campus experienced. He was objecting to the preachers PRIVATE use of a PUBLIC place and his rights were violated by the school in arresting him for defending a PUBLIC place. Of course the preacher in this instance has a right to go and, by appropriate means, try to get the standards for activity in that public place changed AS LONG AS ALL OTHERS of the collective owners of that public place, the school in this instance, are AWARE of how their ownership is being affected and they have a appropriate equal opportunities to defend their own standards for the use of THEIR public place against the changes that the preacher could act to implement. This AWARENESS is what PUBLIC surveillance protects in places like OUR STREETS, OUR INTERNET, and OUR SCHOOLS. Therefore, such valid and appropriate public surveillance is insurance against FACISM and it protects our collective rights as long as we actively engage in their defense. dianedimond.net/orwells-big-brother-prediction-on-a-fast-track-to-reality/
