This role consists of developing and integrating core audio compression technologies into hardware-based encoders. It is suitable for engineers with a proven track record of writing embedded software on complex real time systems, preferably in a field relating to audio or video manipulation or other high data rate applications. Qualifications * BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. * 4 years industry experience in the required areas of audio/video protocols. * Experience in the following areas: • C/C, STL a plus • IPC, and Multi-threaded Linux systems programming • SQL database integration • Linux device drivers *Go Ahead Self Reliant high availability framework *ATCA Platforms *Solid understanding of TCP/IP and socket programming *Embedded processors, ASICs, FPGA, Multi-core processors Experience working on either: Broadcast audio coding methods such as MPEG-1, -2 , -4 and Dolby technologies Digital audio signal processing in TV broadcast related products: • Awareness of hardware issues, from system architecture to detailed low-level issues • Appreciation of high performance computer architectures • Proficient with source code control tools such as subversion • Experience of scripting languages such as Python • Experience of C++ * Comprehensive C and C Linux systems programming experience. * A solid understanding of DSP software development approaches and knowledge of when and how to apply them successfully * Hands-on experience with development and design of near real time application on Linux. * Previous experience in developing drivers and performing low level debugging. * Strong troubleshooting skills on hardware, Linux configuration, and network issues. * Self-motivated to lead projects, and able to effectively manage, delegate and mentor within a development team. Responsibilities * Design and development various subsystems of a complex media optimization architecture. * Define and develop reliable, efficient and reusable software components in C/C for Linux targets. * Support the development team to ensure the team exceeds expectations and delivers high quality solutions on schedule. * Effectively identify and mitigate potential risks during course of projects. * Provide comprehensive information for change management review and approval, ensure implementations proceed according to plan.
