Pupils are enjoying super-fast access to the internet thanks to the recent upgrade of our dedicated fibre-optic connection to 200Mbits. This speed increase supports our move to Google Cloud through which pupils have access to their files from any computer anywhere, meaning that memory sticks are, thankfully, consigned to history! The platform has been further supported by the purchase of Samsung Chromebooks for staff and student use. With a startup time of 8 seconds these neat, lightweight laptops have transformed the use of IT in our classrooms. The powerful document-sharing capabilities make possible new levels of collaborative learning. A compelling advantage of the Google platform is it not only opens up phenomenal educational advantages upon which we will capitalize over the coming years, but will also drive down our long-term costs thus helping to keep our fees competitive. The Google platform is augmented by a suite of Macbook Pros equipped with industry standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, Logic and Sibelius for use in Art, Music and Computing.
