Purefoods eyeing Don Allado for inside help With Marc Pingris being given time off and the unfortunate injury of Ian Sangalang, the Purefoods Star Hotshots are left with a gaping hole in the middle. When Sangalang met the incident against Alaska, it was Yousef Taha who was plugged in and he actually did a good job of holding down the post. But while he, Rafi Reavis and Isaac Holstein can rotate and cooperate to fill the void left by Ian and Ping, the Hotshots decided they still needed extra veteran help. Thus, they gave Don Allado a call on Thursday. The 6’6″ veteran, who actually played for the Purefoods franchise from 2008-2011, practiced with the Hotshots on Friday. He was seen running plays with the second unit – with guys like Alex Mallari, Allein Maliksi and Justin Melton. When asked if we can expect Don to suit up on Sunday, Tim Cone said, “We’ll see if we can work a deal out. It’s probably going to be a short-term deal.” Allado also started his pro career under Cone’s tutelage as he played his first seven seasons with Alaska Source. Slam Philippines - admin brian
